Mazda is WKA's Official Vehicle
In an effort to offer WKA members exclusive benefits such as a chance to be part of the motor sports industry if they so desire, Mazda allies with World Karting Association (WKA).
Mazda's support to the WKA will be comprised of traditional sponsorship funding for prize money, operating costs, and exclusive benefits such as the business-partner pricing on new Mazda cars for the members of WKA.
In a statement, WKA President Randy Kugler said that WKA welcomes Mazda as their newest promotional partner. He further said that it is only natural that they become part of the WKA team because Mazda has imperatives to motor sports; and what is so good in this partnership is that the WKA members will benefit from the offers of Mazda. Each WKA member will have the chance to participate in the S-Plan. This plan offers sufficient savings in the form of discounts on the purchase of Mazda auto mobiles. The WKA president anticipates to a brilliant and exciting partnership with Mazda.
For the past 10 years, Mazda has been the favorite brand of road racers across North America. More than 9,000 proletarian racers compete in various classes with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). And because of the partnership of Mazda and KWA, the children of the KWA members, though they are still several years away from getting their driver's license, are already welcomed in the motor sports industry through the Mazda family.
The Mazda Manager of Motor Sports Team Development by the name of John Doonan said that their company is built to develop the future generation of racers with a comprehensive motor sports ladder system which provides drivers with Mazda and Mazda-powered open and closed-wheel cars throughout their careers as racers. He further said that with such karting initiative, they can now link with an even larger crowd and younger race enthusiasts. Through this, their company can also widely introduce the full range of Mazda products and give their clients the opportunity to make one step forward to the motor sports world.
Through an estimated number of 900 dealers, Mazda North American Operations inspects the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Its headquarters is located in Irvine, Calif.

The company's name is derived from the transcendental God of Zoroastrianism, Ahura Mazda. It is also believed that Mazda coincides with the anglicized pronunciation of Zoroastrianism founder's name, Jujiro Matsuda, and opted to rename it in honor of both his family and the believers of Zoroastrianism. In the Avestan language, Mazda means "wisdom". Nonetheless, because the company is from Japan, the name has always been pronounced and spelled as "Matsuda".
